Data controller

The controller responsible for processing this data is the operator of bibpedia.com. You can get in touch at info@bibpedia.com.

What data we process and where it comes from

Bibpedia collects and organises results of amateur road races that have been published by race organisers and in public classifications. This data may include: first and last name, club, nationality, age category and/or year of birth, bib number, and sporting results (finish times, positions).

We do not obtain this data directly from the runners, but from public sources (Article 14 GDPR).

Purpose

To maintain a searchable database of amateur road-race results in Spain, so that runners, fans and organisers can look up and compare performances.

Legal basis

Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): maintaining a public-interest archive of results from public sporting events. You can object to this processing at any time (see "Your rights").

Individual profiles and search engines

Each event’s results pages are public. Individual profile pages (which compile one person’s history) are only shown to search engines (Google, etc.) once that person has claimed their profile. Unclaimed profiles are not indexed. Profiles of minors are not indexed.

Recipients and providers

We do not sell or share data for commercial purposes. We use providers that act as data processors on our behalf: Vercel (web hosting) and Supabase (database).

These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR apply (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

Retention

We keep the data for as long as the results archive is maintained, or until removal is requested in accordance with this policy.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to info@bibpedia.com. You can also request the removal or de-indexing of a profile using the link available on each profile page. We will respond within a maximum of 30 days.

If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), www.aepd.es.

Changes

We may update this policy; the current version and its date will always be published on this page.
